What is the significance of Lawrence v. Texas? Lots of people know about Obergefell v. Hodges (the 2015 Supreme Court case that legalized gay marriage), but Lawrence paved the way and increased the civil rights of gay couples.
The Loving v. Virginia Supreme Court Case (and Summary) on Interracial Marriage
With MLK Day today (and with Valentine’s coming up), I thought I would summarize the Loving v. Virginia Supreme Court case. This case was an important one in the fight for racial equality. I also think that the case’s name (Loving) is super en pointe. Awhile ago, it was made into a beautiful movie called Loving.
Summary of Roe v. Wade Case
With the recent challenge to the Texas law on abortion, I thought I would do a summary of Roe v. Wade case. This iconic, and controversial case, deals with the Fourteenth Amendment, the right of privacy. This right of privacy goes up against the State’s interest in protecting unborn children. This case from 1973, so it’s not really a trending legal issue. But, you know, it IS still trending!
